At the core of the GREENTECH system is a commitment to circular material use. Rather than relying on gypsum extracted from finite natural reserves, our blocks are manufactured using Flue Gas Desulphurisation (FGD) gypsum—a recyclable industrial by-product recovered from power-plant emission-control processes.

FGD gypsum is created when sulphur dioxide (SOâ‚‚) is removed from the flue gases of a power station to prevent acid rain. The captured SOâ‚‚ is reacted with a limestone slurry to create a solid, high-quality calcium sulphate—synthetic gypsum. By using this recyclable material, we significantly reduce landfill waste and lower the environmental impact of our products by eliminating the need for quarrying.

RECOVER
The process begins with the collection of Flue Gas Desulphurisation (FGD) gypsum from coal-fired power plants. This synthetic gypsum is a by-product of the sulphur dioxide scrubbing process, created when limestone slurry reacts with flue gases. The FGD gypsum then undergoes purification and calcination, during which impurities and excess moisture are removed to produce high-purity gypsum.

FORM
This refined gypsum is then formulated with selected additives and processed using our GREENTECH patented manufacturing technology. Our hot moulding system compresses and shapes the material under controlled conditions, producing high-density blocks.

The molded blocks undergo a carefully controlled calcination process, where heat is applied to convert the gypsum into a reactive plaster. This critical step activates the material's setting properties, ensuring the final GREENTECH Gypsum Blocks achieve optimal strength, fire resistance, and acoustic performance.
